Nothing says “modern Christmas decor” more than red and black buffalo plaid (or check). You’ll see it everywhere in the stores. It reminds me of cozy flannel blankets and hot cocoa. I made this printable “Merry” Christmas banner years ago and now I’m sharing it with you!
These are easy to print at home or send to your local print shop. I don’t have a color printer so I spend a couple dollars and have them printed at the local FedEx.

What is Buffalo Plaid?
Buffalo Plaid (sometimes called Buffalo Check) was first used in the 1800’s in Scotland. It was brought to the United States, usually in the form of blankets. Then it was popularized by Woolrich, who used red and black in the print.
Buffalo Plaid become wildly popular again in the past decade. It’s a fun new print that’s often associated with the holidays.
Buffalo plaid in conjunction with the deer head outline is still very trendy. It has a modern farmhouse feel but looks good with most decor. It’s hard to go wrong with this one!
