From the nightstand

As I've mentioned before, I read to many books at once. I've been known to read 75% of a lot of books.

Here is what I'm reading now.

Raising Kids for True Greatness: Redefine Success for You and Your Child
So far I'm loving it. Highly recommend.

Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality
Oh wow was I loving this until I lost it…

Cold Tangerines: Celebrating the Extraordinary Nature of Everyday Life
This is a lovely book about living in today. Beautifully written.

What are you reading?

Well, I’m reading Cold Tangerines – love it. Great to pick up at the end of a trying day. And I love that it’s basically a bunch of short stories. (thank you again!)
I also have 123 Magic and The Wonder of Boys. I think both are great, though I’m only about halfway through both.
I don’t know the rest – there are several. I have a tower of books on the nightstand right now. Need to get reading!

blue like jazz is pretty good, donald miller’s books in general are really good. i liked “to own a dragon” but that is more specifically about fatherlessness and not as focused about spirituality. i remember in blue like jazz he said something to the effect “i just want to be able to go to church and not have everyone assume i voted for george w bush”. sorry i had more thoughts but my baby is distracting me with her cuteness. um, weirdly enough i just got the “raising kids for true greatness” from the library, too. weird huh?

by the way i completely hear you about reading 75% and reading too many at once. it’s really the only way to do it, right?

These days I’m mainly reading blogs… and Alexander McCall Smith’s “The Lost Art of Gratitude”, which is nice but not as good as the No. 1 Ladies Detective books in my opinion…

Thanks for stopping by my blog. So great to see another family working together to help others in need. ;)
I finished reading ‘The God’s Honest Truth’ by Darin Hufford and plan to read his newest one soon… The Misunderstood God. The Shack was great too. ;)
