Have you seen those cute shirred dresses and tops and wished you could do that to? Well it’s so much easier than you would think. Though it can take a little practice if your sewing machine doesn’t like elastic thread. But any machine should be able to do this with practice!
Learn how to shirr!
- Always hand wind your elastic onto your bobbin thread. You don’t want it to be too tight, with it will be if you use an auto winder.
- Backstitch or tie off by hand. I’d hate for your elastic to pull out when stretched!
