Use elastic thread

Have you seen those cute shirred dresses and tops and wished you could do that to? Well it’s so much easier than you would think. Though it can take a little practice if your sewing machine doesn’t like elastic thread. But any machine should be able to do this with practice! 

Learn how to shirr! 

1. Always hand wind your elastic onto your bobbin thread. You don’t want it to be too tight, with it will be if you use an auto winder. 
2. Backstitch or tie off by hand. I’d hate for your elastic to pull out when stretched!
