Sally Dress Tour (girls dress pattern)

Last month Shannon from luvinthemommyhood and Very Shannon asked me to join the Sally Dress Tour. I was so excited to discover that there are no zippers or buttons on this dress! The girls dress pattern was so quick to sew.

But then I made a mistake and cut the skirt too long. So I took the skirt off and when I reattached the skirt I caught the bodice in the serger and cut a hole in it. WHAT?!? Tell me you’ve done that.

So I needed to patch the hole. I couldn’t think of any ideas I loved. I really didn’t want to do an appliqué, bow or a bib. So I came up with this.

And I love it!
Sally Dress- big pockets, square neck. Love the pleats!

I love this fabric. I don’t need new fabric (obviously) but I bought this especially for the Sally Dress. I love the pockets and the pleats cut on the bias.

The dress is loose and comfortable. The elbow length sleeve length is my favorite. I was happy not to have to fuss with a zipper or buttons. And the accident I made ended up a happy accident and I’m already thinking about adding those pleats to a new pattern!

You can find the Sally Dress HERE. It’s also in the Sew Fab bundle for CHEAP right now!
Or win a copy! I’m giving away one copy of the Sally Dress PDF pattern.
