3cupschicken broth (use vegetable broth for a vegetarian dish)
In a medium saucepan, saute pasta in butter until lightly browned.
Stir in rice and spices until it is all coated in butter.
Add the broth, stir.
Cover with a tight fitting lid. Simmer lightly until broth is absorbed.
Fluff the rice with a fork. Serve.
Adjust the spices to your liking. Consider omitting the parsley and adding other spices that compliment the main dish you serve with the homemade healthy rice-a-roni copycat recipe. If you don't have orzo or vermicelli, consider just breaking up spaghetti or thin pasta into small pieces.
