The holidays are fast approaching. I love the idea of a huge, home cooked meal with family. I’m less excited about spending a full day cooking everything. I know I’m not alone. But, in spite of that, every year I make the big meal. It’s just so good! Turkey, mashed potatoes, pies, veggies. The works. Tip #1: Use a convection oven to save time baking.
If you’re making two dozen rolls or 4 pies, you’ll LOVE convection baking. Cut your cooking and baking times because you can cook on multiple racks at once!
Tip #2: When cooking cranberries, use 1/4 Tbs. of baking soda.
A little baking soda added to your boiling water will help neutralize the acid in the cranberries. You’ll use less sugar, which is good for everyone. This is quick and easy because with the induction cooktop you can boil water in less than 2 minutes.
Tip #3: Use a wooden spoon to prevent your pot from boiling over.
Prevent your boiling water from rolling over the top while you’re tending the rest of your food. Put a wooden spoon across the top of your pot and your water will behave. Your water will come to a boil very quickly with your Frigidaire Gallery® Induction Cooktop, saving you even more time.
Tip #4: Freeze your pie crust.
Roll out your pie crust and then freeze it for about 20 minutes. This will help relax the dough so there is less shrinkage during baking.
Tip #5: Cut up your vegetables the night before.
Keep your stress low on the big day. Cut up your veggies and refrigerate the night before.
