Cottage Mama Ruby Dress & a giveaway!

I'm so honored that Linsday (The Cottage Mama) asked me to preview and make one of her new patterns! I had the opportunity to sew the Ruby Dress pattern for the Cottage Mama Sewing Patterns Blog Tour. Yay! I loved it!

Did I mention her patterns are paper patterns? No piecing anything together. And this Ruby pattern comes in sizes 6 months to 10 years. I love patterns that come in many sizes!

The Ruby dress is a normal sleeveless A-line dress but it comes with 3 variations. One simple, one with a front panel and one with ruffles. I chose to make the ruffles.

I had just the right fabrics in my stash for this dress. I love the combo here. Girly and modern in a timeless style.

I love the front panel.

And I only used one shoulder button on each side where the pattern called for 2. I just didn't want to go to the store I was too excited to finish. And I love this fabric covered button.

You did a beautiful job on your dress. I LOVE the aqua fabric you’ve chosen to use.
In all honesty, I love all three of her new patterns, but my first choice would be the Charlotte dress. That is just adorable.

I would choose the Ruby Ruffle, definitely my favorite, but they’re all really cute!

I’d make the classic A-line dress. It has endless possibilities as a blank canvas for potato stamping shapes, applique of all kinds (beads, 3D flowers, etc), embroidery, fabric painting… So many ideas, so little time.

I liked the Nicey Jane Retro dress, but I don’t know if she sells the pattern for that one! So cute though. Otherwise, the Ruby Ruffle one you made would be my second favorite! And the Janey dress… so cute too!!!

I was liking the apron dress the best, but the last post with the rompers caught my eye, and now I like the pattern you used. :) I really like the dress you made, so I’ll pick that one today.

I love what you did with the colors for this dress. It’s an unexpected combination. For me I love the Janey Jumper because there is something so perfectly timeless about a little girl in an A line dress with little embellishments and a quirky smile.

What a super cute dress! I think the dress looks great with just one button on each side. It’s perfect! I’d love to make the Run Around Romper for my grandson.
Thank you and The Cottage Mama for a great giveaway and a chance to win.
